- About Our Farm -
Nestled between Mt. Hood and the weird city of Portland, Oregon, our little five-acre farm perches on a hillside overlooking dairies and nurseries. We know it's crazy to farm on a steep hillside, but, my wife and I have always reached for crazy ideas. This little farm is my project. Hi, I'm Mackenzie. I grow things and craft things. Buck and Thistle is my attempt to serve people and the environment. We all love flowers. They bring us smiles and calming aspects for us to enjoy. Flowers are also a way to help pollinators and improve air quality. Did I mention, we also keep bees?
Environmental Commitment
At Buck and Thistle, we are committed to protecting and preserving our natural environment for future generations. We have implemented no-till practices in order to limit our environmental impact. Our flowers are never treated with harmful chemicals or pesticides, and we use only natural fertilizers to help them grow. Our foraged items are only collected from fallen trees from our own private forest. We are also proud to use only biodegradable packaging as much as possible to reduce our carbon footprint. We strive to be good stewards of the earth and believe our environmentally-conscious practices are a great way to do our part in keeping our planet healthy.
